Big Cig enters the Dragon's DenOn October 15 2010 Bexley Stop Smoking Service collected not one but two awards at the prestigious No Smoking Day Organiser of the Year Awards at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in London.  We received awards for ‘Best Use of a Local MP’ and ‘Best Use of Big Cig’ for our photographs of Big Cig with both David Evennett MP and celebrity Duncan Bannatyne, President of NSD.

No Smoking Day 2011 will take place on Wednesday 9th March when smokers will be asked to consider if it’s Time to Quit?  Smoking remains the largest preventable cause of premature death and disease in England.  NHS Stop Smoking Services have proved effective in reducing smoking prevalence since they were introduced in 1999.  Smoking rates in England have declined by a half in children and a quarter in adults over the last ten years but since the recession there are significant pressures on smokers and it is even more important they are aware of the effective support to quit available locally. Smoking is highly addictive and still attractive to many young people.  Smokers accessing Bexley NHS Stop Smoking Service are four times more likely to successfully quit. All GPs and most pharmacies have a specially trained Stop Smoking Service Advisor who can offer free support to help you beat the smoking addiction. Make time to quit as this is the best thing anyone can do to improve their health and quality of life.
