Smokefree Town Centre Consultation

22nd November 2018

During January and February 2018 the Public Health Department at Bexley Council ran a Public Consultation to find out what local residents thought about introducing a voluntary smokefree zone to cover the pedestrianised area in Bexleyheath town centre.

A smokefree zone would  protect children and young people from the influence and impact of visible smoking, help change attitudes towards smoking and improve health.  The public were also asked how they would feel about other public outdoor spaces – such as bus shelters, children’s’ play grounds, outdoor eating areas – being smokefree.
